Inner Thigh Rash

A rash on inner thigh is usually a result of bad hygiene. Different types of microorganisms dwell in unclean regions of the body and if left untreated, would multiply and would result to the appearance of a red and itchy rash. In some rare cases, a rash on the inner thigh could also indicate a much more serious condition like AIDS, gonorrhea and other sexually transmitted diseases. However, if you are in doubt, it is better to consult your doctor first before jumping into any conclusions.

Inner thigh rash causes

  • Clothing

The rash on the inner thigh could be triggered by the clothing that you wear. Fitted semi elastic tights could irritate the skin on the inner thigh because of the material used. Latex is an example of a chemical added to the clothing that could cause rashes on inner thigh. Soiled and used clothing could also cause an inner thigh rash as the cloth gathers microorganisms. These microorganisms may transfer to the skin, multiply and result to a rash.

Bacteria and other microorganisms are more likely to dwell in humid places. Sweat that gathers on the inner thigh could attract bacteria. People with more fat on thighs have the tendency to gather sweat on the folds of the skin that would most probably develop into a rash.

  • Insect Bites

Rash on inner thigh could also be caused by bites of insects such as ticks, bed bugs, ants and mosquitoes. These kinds of rash usually fade through time. Application of creams and ointments prescribed by doctors could also help hasten the healing of the rash.
